Teachers and Curriculum
Schools with full or partial taxpayer funding must hire certified teachers and teach the B.C. curriculum.
Membership in the British Columbia Teachers’ Federation is necessary for teachers hired by fully funded schools while for those teachers working at partially funded schools BCTF membership is voluntary.
The BCTF is opposed adamantly, consistently, philosophically, strategically and historically to legislation allowing the voluntary formation of up to 20 charter schools in B.C.
