2021 Oct 26 - Jennifer Street to MLA Abbotsford-Mission Pam Alexis It's the public system that needs modernization Click on letter to enlarge. | I got a fairly generic response from my MLA's administrative assistant that my concerns had been forwarded to the MoE. I replied: My purpose for writing was to specifically ask you to represent us and advocate on our behalf to the MoE. I have contacted the MoE multiple times along with thousands of other concerned families, but everyone just keeps getting back form responses with big words like modernization and equality without anything actually addressing the concerns presented. It seems like they don't even read the letters sent to them or even care about how they are hurting the people they are supposed to serve. Please hold them accountable to actually address the concerns that I and thousands of others have voiced and not just respond in meaningless platitudes. I am tired of hearing how they are modernizing a system, when independent distributed learning is one of the few parts of the education system where parents are begging the MoE NOT to make changes because it is working so well. Fix what is broken, not what is working. Please also ensure that the MLA herself has taken time to read and consider my concerns. |
